Tsachi Idan is from Nahal Oz near the border with Gaza. On October 7, terrorists infiltrated the small peaceful community and killed his firstborn daughter Ma’ayan Idan (18). After livestreaming his family’s horror onto his wife Gali’s Facebook page for hours, the terrorists eventually retreated back to Gaza with Tsachi and his neighbour Omri Miran. Tsachi still had the blood of Ma’ayan all over his clothes from trying to save her.

He loves travelling, barbecuing on the weekends, and Hapoel Tel Aviv. He loves music – a passion he shared with his daughter Ma’ayan Z”L. Tsachi loves his family. His three remaining children, Sharon, Yael, and Shachar miss him terribly. As does his wife Gali and the rest of his family.

Tsachi’s cousin Adam Ma’anit lives in Brighton where he campaigns daily for his release and that of the remaining 100 other hostages. Because they are us and we are them.
